Freelance fiction & creative nonfiction editor bio

A little bit about me …
I grew up embracing the warm, laid-back lifestyle of Southern California. I went to Arizona State University for a B.A. in Creative Writing and lived in Arizona for a few more years. Now, I live in Centennial, Colorado with my partner, our daughter, and two silly tree frogs. I love animals, being in nature, and gardening — hence the garden metaphors.
I grew up thinking nonfiction was boring and that fiction was the only thing that was enjoyable to read. Luckily I learned otherwise as an adult! Now I write creative nonfiction short stories & have a few fiction manuscripts in progress. But, I will edit pretty much anything! When I’m not immersed in words, I’m diving into serial killer documentaries, cult lore, or the exact opposite — spending time snuggled up with my daughter while we watch Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood or Shaun the Sheep.
If you know anything about me, I love to be cozy. My favorite spot to be is on the couch curled up under a big fuzzy blanket. Second to that, enjoying coffee on the balcony on a cold day while the Colorado sun keeps me warm. But for the most part I’m trying to keep up with my toddler!
I find beauty in unlikely places — like a Bougainvillea vine twisted through a chain link fence that surrounds the dumpster of a market in Mexico. Moments of unexpected charm inspire me to see the world, and stories, through a unique lens. This helps me find the messy pieces of writing surrounded by the beauty of a writer’s creativity.
